Kimberly Harrison sorry for the late reply!🙂. That slow walk is best addressed using an aid outside of the normal cues.  I will ask for an extended walk with a subtle cluck or maybe a squeeze, if the horse breaks into a trot, I will trot him in circles until he ralxes, then start over.  If he resists the forward motion, I'll follow up with a pop with my split reins, the tail of my rope, or a quirt.  If he trots from there, I circle.  If he slows down right away, I don't ask again, I just pop again.  Then, trot circles.  Eventually they figure out the desired speed and stay there willingly.  The constant cueing with your legs and seat is what makes them dull.  Ask once and expect them to get it.  Hope this helps.🙂

Jasmin Eisenkolb Welcome!!  Thanks for the pics, I like your horse.  My RP is 40' (don't know what that is in meters🤦). I've used several sizes over the years and settled on 40 as an all around good size.  The only disadvantage is it's a little small for loping, but I really don't lope in there anyhow.  I guess the good thing about the panels is that you can play with different sizes til you find the one that suits you best, right?

Nicholas Ian Smith I just use some common sense and choose one that has enough padding and quality to get the job done.  If it comes with a big sales pitch, chances are it is too fancy for me.  I generally like a 1" felt pad with wither relief and possibly fleece on the bottom.  Pretty straight forward.  No extra padding, gel inserts, or shims.  I'm not smart enough to know what that stuff is for😂. If I want to get fancy, I'll throw a navajo blanket on top.
