John Ball Hi John.  I hope you guys are well!  My neck ropes are about 20' in length.  The stopper knot really depends on what I've go going on that day.  If the horse really wants to put some distance between us, I'll let it out to the end.   If not, it'll be closer.  🙂

The Code doesn't necessarily mean that the horse must stop moving his feet and face up.  I eventually want them to travel around the pen with their attention on me.  So, I start that process by gently asking him to continue moving while staying on me.  Make sense?

I wouldn't let that bother me.  Start quiet refers to you and your attitude.  If you stand there quietly and she wants to run around, by all means let her.  If she wants to come to the middle, that's ok.  Just ask her to stay out of your space.   You know, ask her to stop 5 or 6 feet before she gets to you.  Keep us posted on your progress.  Richard

That's hard to say.  I find that resistance is usually due to a failure to communicate effectively.  I'd have to see a video to be sure.  Can you upload one to youtube and send the link here?
