Quick (hopefully) question on roping and horse position. Background: 3 man roping - I've headed and dallied a steer and it is on my rope side moving right to left (toward the head of my horse).  What's the appropriate movement to reposition my horse as the steer goes past the head of my horse? A couple options I've tried are 1)Step his shoulders over right to left and 2) step his hindquarters over left to right. Thanks!

I figured I misquoted one of them and would have to get the sharpie out...haha

We really like your horsemanship principles so we figured they'd make a good reminder on the wall. Used one of our horses as the poster model. Thanks for all the content!

What's the purpose of the black lines/rope connected to the reins?

Richard,

Do you work on any ranch-roping at your clinics?

If anyone else begins having issues with videos playing (e.g. slowness/jerky playback) you may have to switch to a browser besides Edge/IE. A recent update appears to have screwed up video playback in Edge. I switched to Firefox and the playback issues were resolved.

My sister has used them within their cutting program. They loved the hardiness, agility, and resilience of them but had trouble keeping them inside the fence.
