Stephen Gowling I don't see a problem with starting your horse in a hackamore.  I will do that from time to time when I have one with similar issues.  I would just use a neck rope the same way as I do with the snaffle bit and run the loose end through the bosal.  It will work similarly.  As far as roping goes, I need to dig out some old stuff for you. I'll send you a message on here when I find them.  🤠
