That's hard to say.  I find that resistance is usually due to a failure to communicate effectively.  I'd have to see a video to be sure.  Can you upload one to youtube and send the link here?

Lucas Truax Nice work!  I like the forward motion too!

Mckenna Merrill My suggestion would be to let her wear the snaffle a lot while not being ridden.  Be very slow and quiet (I'm sure you are) while you put it on and retreat with every improvement no matter how slight.  Let her get used to the bit and learn that it's nothing to be afraid of.  Tie her with a neck rope and let her stand around with the bit on for an hour or so everyday.  Ride her in a traditional style hackamore/bosal and just continue to trot circles when she gets hot.  This could take several weeks and is likely to get a little worse before it gets better, but just stay the course.  Keep us updated and good luck.
