Amy Busch Ok.  It sounds to me like you're getting it figured out.  Nice work!

Stephen Gowling Mud just adds to the mystique!😁

Amy Busch I think you're on the right track, but with a horse with a history like the one you described, it could take a while.  Maybe try turning her loose in the round pen and teach her the Code first while she's loose.  Let her make the decision instead of trying to force it.  I would definitely get her standing up and travelling soft before you move on.  If she'll brace on the ground, she'll do it from the saddle too.  Have a great day!🙂

They're very handy.

I have gotten my winter riding wardrobe down.

Tight base layer.

Wool socks and riding boots.

Regular work shirt and jeans

Heavy wool sweater or vest and coat.

Silk wild rag

Leather gloves with cotton roping gloves underneath

Felt lid or wool cap with ear flaps if it's real nasty.

Shotgun leggins

Copious amounts of strong black coffee.😜

Lucas Truax Leather leggins!👍👍👍

Katherine Cosper I like the cold, too.  Better than sweating!😆

Lucas Truax Wool sweaters and socks, YES.  I've never had any insulated riding boots, but I used to ride in my muck boots from time to time.  I'll just use on pair of wool socks and normal riding boots these days.  Same as in summer.  I've gotten horses to sweating pretty good in the winter, but it's been a while.   I've never had any ill effects come from it.  I will use a cooler on them afterwards.
