Lynn Morrison I use the fence quite a bit in the roundpen when I'm starting them.  Mostly the foundation for the rollback comes from correcting them when they try to cut across the pen.  I'll turn them all the way around and then turn them back when we get to the fence.  If I need the fence in the arena, I'll use it.

A young horse is ready when they understand what a pull on the snaffle bit means and respond to it by looking and going in the direction of the pull.  Make sense?

Camdon Corzatt Thank you for that!  You guys need to come back for some more some time.  🙂

sheri ann adams Same here.  But, after listening to the podcast on Cowhorse Full Contact, I think the POTUS might be sympathetic to our cause.  The crazy thing is that all the associations are behind it.  Especially the english world.  It seems they just don't want to rock any boats.

Lynn Morrison Did I read that right?  Multiple personality disorder?

Terri Stegmiller Welcome and thanks!  Stay warm up there and keep us posted when you get back to work.  🙂

Terri Stegmiller Welcome! You can use those techniques to help with almost any leading issue, no arena necessary.  The goal is to just keep the horse's attention on you at all times. Keep us posted.🙂
