Do you have any more Elvis videos? Or any other colt you’ve started? Just wondering if you follow them through their first 30 days?

Hi Richard,

I bought a 12 hr old quarter horse in Nov ‘22. The more my daughter and I have been around him the more bad habits he seems to exhibit. He bit my daughter’s hand when she was tying him up, and then reared up breaking his halter after being tied to the trailer. I’m new to this, but was wondering if I should start all over again with lounging as you did with Elvis (desensitizing him with the flag). The previous owner said he was “broke”. What is the best way to build trust with him? Just looking for solutions so my daughter and I can have a great horse. Thank you for your videos and expertise and look forward to learning more. ~Zak

I struggle with keeping things organized on this community page. If you guys have asked a question and didn't get an answer, it could be that I couldn't find it or you couldn't see the answer easily. Go ahead and shoot us an email at info@b1horsemanship.com if you don't get an answer within a day or two. Thanks for your patience!

Hi guys, I really appreciate all the content suggestions. We'll knock those out ASAP. I wanted to offer something to you guys as members. My wife and I have been in the horse and cattle business a long time and over the years we've learned quite a bit about the business side. Let's have a discussion about costs, billing, investments, customer relations, advertising, employees, or taxes. Any questions?

What is the purpose of roping a colt? Is it just to desensitize? I’ve roped a colt to catch them. But usually when I have them comfortable with being caught I don’t rope them. What does “sacked out” mean?

Hello friends, Nat and I have been discussing ideas for future content and we are looking for suggestions. Do any of you have a specific video request? Maybe a problem you're having or just something you'd like to see on the site?

Richard,

I was curious about the reasoning behind your backhanded flag work. If you're moving a horse to the left, you have the flag in your left hand. Its counter to what I do. I was wondering if its just a preference or if there is a functional purpose for it.

Thanks

Hello Friends, I hope each of you are well and enjoying your Christmas Eve. Like most of the country, we are currently having a bit of a cold spell which made chores this morning a beast. I know some of you are having record low temps so I thought I'd reach out and check on y'all. What's your current temperature? Lowest temp gets a free B1 hat!

I bought an 11 year old quarter horse who has an issue with backing up. We bought him as a rope prospect but he needs to be able to back up and he rears up if you try to back him up a few steps. I can get him to back up 2 or 3 steps anything after that he’s in the air or throwing his head. I’m open for any suggestions. I’m planning on working with him but I’m looking for some advice. Thanks
