It makes total sense. Ā I feel like sometimes I can get caught up in where I think my horses are supposed to be rather than building them to what they are ready for. Ā  I do have cattle and I feel like cattle are such a good tool to give my young horses a reason for what we have worked on in the arena:)

Thank you for your time!!

Hi,Ā

Thank you for responding:). I will go watch Naches and Magnolia! Ā This colt is bred, Hollywood Dun It, Nic It In The Bud, Shining Sparkā€¦..very gentle and processes well. Ā Not reactive so I am so glad you said maybe not to desensitize Ā because these colts tend to be pretty quiet anyway. When I start a colt I feel the pressure to do all the ā€œstuffā€ to desensitize, thanks for taking the pressure off! lol I really appreciate your simple approach to training.Ā

What are your thoughts on handling a colt that wants to be with the rest of the herd? I mainly have Ranch horses that run together, but I donā€™t put my young horses in with those horses just because they tend to get picked on. This colt acts a little insecure, and I have kept him separate but i feel like if itā€™s in them already what are some things to keep it at the best level that you can?Ā

Yes it did help! Ā Thank you!

Thank you for the response:). That helped a lot. Sometimes these kind of colts are misunderstood and I just want to do good by him. Ā This has helped me look at him with more understanding and patience.Ā

We got 12ā€ of snow and had to start feeding our cows that were in good feedšŸ˜ž. Then it got down to 3 degrees so the snow stayed for a while. BUT It has warmed up in the last couple days and everything is melting!! I have never been so happy to deal with mud!šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. Might get to quit feeding and let the cows go back to grazing. But it is WAY colder in other areas of the nation. Just watched a YouTube video of some ranchers taking care of cattle in -50šŸ˜³šŸ˜³

Yes, this was great help! It helps me to know when to ask for the increase in speed. It will be good for the times we trail the cows....gives me something to do! Lol

Thank you so much for your time:)

Thank you for taking the time to answer! That makes total sense and I will use that:). It makes sense to not ask for speed til after the turn. The turn probably falls apart?

Thank you again
