Glad you're back safe n sound! Weather in Alberta is beautiful AND Little Feather is now back from the trainers so we've been going out on daily rides. As expected, she likes to try me a bit. I should be able to get in on this week's call and I may have some questions. Lol Enjoy the rest of your wknd!!  Michelle

Richard ya, I work as his chauffeur,  chef, maid, advisor. Etc lol

May not make it..driving the boy around tonight. Lol

Hi there!

I did try to lighten up on her and it did seem to work better. Working with her daily is kind of hit and miss right now.If it's not cold, its windy and/or it's icy, if it's not icy, it's actively snowing..welcome to Alberta, Canada! Lol we will keep at it.I am still going out and spending time with her every day.

I did want to ask that in the beginning with Luna when you started to introduce the snaffle bit to her, you had made a comment about leaving it on her for a couple hours or something. Is it safe to do that unattended or do you just kind of hang around for those two hours?

Thank you for checking in!

Michelle

Thank you so much for your reply! In my mind, i'm not overdoing it, but maybe I am!! I know she can move cause I see her going full tilt. When she's out with her friends and she's bossing around the older mares lol

Richard Boatwright I've been working with my three year old rescue filly, using the twenty day program with Luna. We are up to day seven now.. she will take absolutely anything I give her to do, but my goodness. She will not move her feet unless it's first thing in the morning or a bit chilly outside. The flag worked for the first 2 days, but I can shake that flag with everything that's in me and she'll just look at it.It doesn't bother her whatsoever. Another day, twirling a rope made her move. But only that one day slapping my leg, clucking, smooching, nothing she'll just walk over to me. Yesterday I had put the long drive rains on her, and she responded quite well to that as far as turning her head with the slightest bit of pressure applied. But she did it from pretty much standing still.  My farrier says she's extremely lazy I might as well just get on her now hahaha any other suggestions for how I can actually get her moving on a consistent basis? It does get tempting to just get on her ...
