Hi Richard Boatwright

Thanks for the followup.

Your process sounds very similar to mine.  No agenda's.  So far its going well. I try to get a good 5 days in.

Im also trying to get out of the roundpen quicker, these days.  It certainly makes s difference!

I need to try your method of ditch digging!  :)

Maybe you can film some training on it.

Youre welcome to use my soon to be waterline for your filming!!

Seriously,  thanks for your videos and guidance!  It matters!!

Hi Richard,

I know personally there are several factors that determine how much time I'll work a particular horse each session as well as how many days a week I'll work them.  But, I was wondering if you have a standard rule of thumb.

ex. 1 hr./day x 5 days a week

Thanks for all your guidance!

Mike

Richard,

Thanks for the great explanation!

Im going to try it today. Of course, old habits being second nature, I may be fumbling between my lead rope and flag, for a few days. Kinda like trying to tie your shoes backwards. :)

Richard,

I was curious about the reasoning behind your backhanded flag work. If you're moving a horse to the left, you have the flag in your left hand. Its counter to what I do. I was wondering if its just a preference or if there is a functional purpose for it.

Thanks
