John Britton  I would definitely recommend starting her over with the ES20.  Keep in mind that it could take a while so don't get frustrated with her. Most of the race horses don't have much of a foundation even though they might be gentle.  Stay persistent with the flag and remember to back off whe she gives you a little attention.  try to start with a glance or an ear flick to begin with and build from there.  Keep s updated.🙂

Carol crater Burrising is what my mentor Richie Roberts called groundwork.  I use it to describe the exercise where I ask the horse too stop straight on the fence, then roll back.

Michelle Werner I always want them to move around either in the round pen or on a lunge line until they relax.  I'll change directions several times along the way.  That will usually tell me where their head is.  If I have a horse at a trot and then change direction quickly, he'll almost always tell me how fresh he is. If he squeals or jumps around, I'll just keep working on it until I can get those changes and departures nice and quiet.  Have fun!!
