Richard Boatwright I have a question for you. I watched your videos on teaching a horse to lead properly. I definitely need to work on this with my horse as he is all over the place. I don’t have an arena to work with him and when I do lead him he is always trying to snack on the nearby grass. Will the techniques from your leading video help with stopping him from trying to eat or is there anything else I can do?

I joined recently and watched the entire snaffle basics program. I am just getting back into riding again at 60. I rode quite a bit in my late teens/early 20s. I bought a 6 yr old green broke quarter horse gelding last summer and had never ridden with a snaffle bit before. I rode him maybe a dozen times last year not feeling very confident in knowing what I was doing. I decided to educate myself and when winter is over (it’s darn cold right now in North Dakota) I am planning to start working with Gus again, probably starting with basic ground work and moving on from there. Just watching your videos have helped my understanding a lot.Â
