Split reins or a crop. As soon as you feel him start to think about changing gates a lil motivational touch on the butt will help. They figure it out really quick and you’ll need less and less of it.

Works on the ground too

Squeezing with both legs in the horses rhythm helps too. B1 has a few good videos of it in a long trot. Watch anything with developing speed control in the library

Just wanna say thank you to the b1 crew. Changed my entire program on starting horses. Been a massive fan and study every video. Best program and has helped me make some people very happy with having a good solid safe horse with an incredible foundation. Have a beautiful weekend!!

Richard Yes absolutely!! I tried on Wednesday last week but my time is different and I was still riding horses. What time is it there? It’s 9 am here

I’m right on the British Columbia and Montana boarder. A little village called grasmere. I find sheds every ride pretty well. It’s magnificent country
