Tammy W. I think you've got it covered.  Not a lot you can do more.  Have you taken his internal temp just to make sure he's staying normal?  That might be the only other thing I'd add. 🙂

Kelly M. by the way,  What didi he have that made him break out in sores?

Kelly M. Cash was similar. With him I just kept at it.  Training when I could and trying to have the good habit of at least getting him standing so I could mount if I was in a hurry that day.  It probably took 3 or 4 months and now he's great.  He got sore too and it took a while for him to get over it.  I never really considered laying him down because I knew that if I were patient and consistent, He'd come arpound.  Although, I will say that had I laid hm down early on it might not have taken so long😂.  At the end of the day I'd say that if he's dangerous, lay him down.  If it's just an inconvenience, give him time, he'll give it up.  Good luck!!
