Kimberly Harrison sorry for the late response!  We were on the road for the last couple weeks, but back home now.  Hope you had a wonderful holiday.  On the yearling thing, I don't want clients to do too much with them.  Basically just get them halter broke and quiet.  It is always nice if I can handle their feet and groom them too but I don't want a yearling to be dull and unresponsive which often times comes with too much handling.  I'd say getting them up twice a week and leading, tying, grooming, and picking up their feet would be sufficient.  🙂

Michelle Houle That's good news.  I hope you get some horse training weather soon!  I like to let my young horses wear a snaffle bit a lot in the beginning.   I will typically put the bridle on them (no reins) and then tie them up with my neck rope.  Not hard and fast, just looped around the rail so that if they get spooked, the rope will pull freely.  Then I'll go about my business and just let them get accustomed to it.  A couple hours a day.🙂
